What is Passivation Treatment? Passivation treatment of 304 stainless steel plates involves processes such as rolling, edging, welding, or artificial surface heat treatment to remove the black oxide skin formed during processing. Traditional passivation methods for stainless steel surfaces typically involve strong corrosive methods using hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid to remove the natural color of the stainless steel surface. However, this method incurs high costs and environmental pollution.

Currently, there are two main methods for treating the oxide skin on the surface of 304 stainless steel plates: sandblasting and chemical methods. Sandblasting: This method mainly involves using fine glass beads to remove the black oxide skin from the surface. Chemical method: It involves soaking in a pollution-free passivating paste and a non-toxic cleaning solution with inorganic additives at room temperature, achieving the goal of restoring the stainless steel to its original color. Once treated, the surface appears matte, making this method suitable for large, complex products.
