What details should be paied attention to opper pipe welding installation?

Copper pipe soldering installation needs to pay attention to the following details:

Construction preparation

- Material inspection: copper pipe material, specifications to meet the design requirements, check the surface of the copper pipe for obvious cracks, sand holes, pits and other problems to ensure that the quality is qualified.

- Welding material selection: according to the copper pipe material and welding process, select the appropriate welding rod and flux. For example, phosphorus deoxidized copper welding can choose copper welding rod containing phosphorus. Welding materials should be properly stored to avoid moisture and pollution.

- Tool preparation: prepare the appropriate welding tools, such as oxyacetylene torch, argon arc welding machine, and to ensure that the tool performance is good, no leakage of the connection parts.

Welding process

- Cutting and cleaning: copper pipe cutting need to use special cutting tools, after cutting with a file or scraper to clean up inside and outside the mouth of the burr, so that the mouth of the pipe is flat and smooth, but also with sandpaper or steel wire brush will be welded parts of the oxidized layer of sanding until the metal luster is revealed.

- Assembly and positioning: welding copper pipe to ensure that the assembly gap is uniform, generally between 0.5 - 1.5mm, you can use fixtures or positioning tools to fix the copper pipe to prevent displacement in the welding process.

- Welding parameter control: the use of oxyacetylene welding, according to the copper pipe wall thickness and pipe diameter to adjust the size of the flame, generally neutral flame is more suitable for copper pipe welding. Argon arc welding, to adjust the welding current, voltage and argon flow, such as welding thin-walled copper pipe, the current should be small, to avoid burn-through.

- Welding operation: start welding, first heated at one end of the copper pipe, until it reaches the welding temperature and then add the electrode, the welding process, the electrode should be fed evenly, to avoid the occurrence of unfused or slagging defects. Welding speed should be moderate, keep moving the torch at a constant speed to make the weld well formed.

Quality inspection and post-processing

- Appearance inspection: After welding is completed, check the appearance of the weld to see if it is flat, with or without porosity, cracks, unfused and other defects. The surface of the weld should be fish scale-like and uniform in width.

- Internal cleaning: In order to prevent impurities from remaining inside the copper pipe, flush the inside of the pipe with high-pressure gas or water after the welding is finished, and clean up the residue produced by the welding.

- Pressure test: pressure test to check the sealing of the welding, test pressure to meet the design requirements, generally 1.5 - 2 times the working pressure, stabilized pressure time of not less than 10 - 15 minutes, the pressure drop in the permissible range to be considered qualified.
