When packaging and shipping
stainless steel plates, open trucks without protective measures are generally used for shipment. If required, shipping in enclosed trucks will require additional manpower and handling. The transportation weight of carbon steel, high-strength low-alloy steel and stainless steel plates is generally not fixed. Stainless steel plate shipments weighing less than 5 tons will require additional manpower and handling. The coordination of shipments with non-fixed weights is best determined based on the experience of the transporter.
One of the most suitable methods is to cross-place stainless steel plate shipments. Separating sizes and items requires additional handling, often causing congestion in processing plants, and may also delay the overall processing of stainless steel plates. Such a separation appears to be insufficiently flexible. The use of special or specific shipping methods that require the use of metal straps and wires to secure shipments disrupts normal packaging and shipping procedures and requires additional labor and packing materials.
The carbon steel plate and stainless steel plate of the reel can be fixed using at least one circular single-hole fixing strap or a double-hole circular fixing strap. In addition, the packaging requirements of stainless steel plates are determined based on the transportation method, the specified finish and the size of the stainless steel plates. For the transportation of hot-rolled stainless steel plates and hot-rolled annealed steel plates in bulk, if there are regulations, they should be transported in fixed-volume shipments and shipped in open trucks.
If the processing exceeds rolling and annealing requirements, such as acid etching or sand blowing cleaning, protective cloth or waterproof cloth can also be added to the stainless steel plate if specified on the order or contract. Cold formed stainless steel panels require as much protection as possible, such as covering or wrapping, or using scooters. When polishing stainless steel plates, if the quantity is small, they must be packed and transported. When the quantity is large, use scooters and wrap them with corresponding paper, and add additional protective measures if necessary.
