High temperature oxidation resistance and thermal radiation reflectivity of aluminized steel plates

Aluminium Coated Steel Plate is a steel plate plated with a layer of pure aluminum or an aluminum-silicon alloy containing 5% to 10% silicon on the surface of carbon steel.

1.Thermal radiation reflectivity is another characteristic of Aluminium Coated Steel Plate in controlling, blocking and suppressing thermal radiation. In a short time, its performance is comparable to that of pure aluminum and better than that of galvanized steel. According to testing, after four years of outdoor use of galvanized steel plates in urban suburbs, its thermal radiation reflection ability dropped to only 5%, which is similar to a black body that absorbs all radiant heat, while the reflective ability of aluminized steel plates is still 55%.

2.Aluminized steel plates are also very good in terms of high temperature oxidation resistance. When the surface temperature reaches about 510°C, the aluminum coating can prevent the steel plate from being oxidized and does not discolor itself. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for heat-resistant facilities that are corroded by corrosive condensate or other combustion by-products. At temperatures of 510 to 677°C, although the aluminum-iron-silicon alloy becomes somewhat black, the aluminum coating can still protect the steel plate very well. The melting temperature of the base layer of the steel plate is 1580°C, which is much higher than the melting temperature of the aluminum layer of 654°C. Due to the relatively high strength of the steel plate, the aluminized steel plate can last much longer than aluminum in the event of a fire, so it can resist, limit and suppress flames. The danger of spreading. The disadvantage of aluminized steel plates is that the production cost is higher than that of galvanized steel plates, but it is still economical in terms of service life. Another disadvantage is that the processing properties of aluminized steel sheets are not as satisfactory as galvanized steel sheets.
