Features and uses
316 stainless steel: In seawater and various other media, its corrosion resistance is better than 06Cr19Ni10 (304 stainless steel). Mainly used for pitting resistant materials.
316L stainless steel: ultra-low carbon steel of 06Cr17Ni12Mo2 (316 stainless steel). Ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel has good corrosion resistance to various inorganic acids, alkalis and salts (such as sulfurous acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, chloride salts, halogens, sulfites, etc.). Due to the low carbon content, it has good welding performance and is suitable for multi-layer welding. Generally, no heat treatment is required after welding, and there is no tendency of knife-edge corrosion after welding. It can be used in the manufacture of industrial equipment such as synthetic fibers, petrochemicals, textiles, fertilizers, printing and dyeing, and atomic energy, such as towers, tanks, containers, and pipelines.
316H stainless steel: Compared with 06Cr17Ni12Mo2 (316 stainless steel), the carbon (C) content of 316H stainless steel is adjusted from ≤0.08% to 0.04%~0.10%, and the high temperature resistance is increased. 316H stainless steel is widely used in heating kettles, boilers, hard alloys conveyor belt etc.
316Ti stainless steel: It has good resistance to intergranular corrosion and is used for equipment resistant to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, formic acid, and acetic acid.
316Nb stainless steel: It has better intergranular corrosion resistance than 06Cr17Ni12Mo2 (316 stainless steel).
316N stainless steel: Nitrogen (N) is added to 06Cr17Ni12Mo2 (316 stainless steel) to increase the strength without reducing the plasticity and reduce the thickness of the material. For higher strength parts with better corrosion resistance.
316LN stainless steel: The use is the same as 06Cr17Ni12Mo2N (316N stainless steel), but the resistance to intergranular corrosion is better.
316J1 stainless steel: better corrosion resistance and pitting resistance than 06Cr17Ni12Mo2 (316 stainless steel). For sulfuric acid resistant materials.
