After the
stainless steel plate is stretched and formed, its surface will appear rough, which is called the orange peel phenomenon. As the name suggests, the surface has textures like orange peel, and it becomes rough to the touch. Obviously, this is very different from the smooth surface of our common stainless steel plates.
Aiming at the stainless steel plates with orange peel phenomenon on the market, Li Gong of Shuitianfu Stainless Steel conducted a detailed analysis and concluded the following four reasons and countermeasures.
Reason 1: During the processing of stainless steel plates, the grinding of stainless steel plates is not sufficient. Can be avoided by adequate grinding.
Reason 2: The greater the processing of the stainless steel plate, the more serious the orange peel phenomenon on the surface of the stainless steel plate. The orange peel phenomenon on the surface of the stainless steel plate can be avoided by deep processing of the stainless steel plate and sufficient grinding.
The other two reasons are the softening of the heat treatment of the stainless steel plate and the coarse grain of the raw material. Regarding the heat treatment softening of the stainless steel plate, we can avoid the orange peel phenomenon of the stainless steel plate by performing appropriate heat treatment on the stainless steel plate. If it is due to the coarse grains of the raw materials, it is necessary to properly control the grain size of the raw materials to avoid the orange peel phenomenon of the stainless steel plate from the source.
